Whats the deal with the canon d50 prices?

At websites like this one

http://shopdigitaldirect.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=8075

and

http://soniccameras.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5654

they say it comes with a USA warrenty are they full of it and its really a grey market camera?? its so much cheaper than other places...|||At least when it comes to Canon and Nikon cameras sold in the US, they are "fair market" products ... that is there is an agreement between the seller and the importer to sell such items for agreed upon prices. Any reduction in prices have to be authorized by, in this case, USA Canon.

The least expensive Canon products at present are sold through Amazon.com.

The USA warranty, if you check, is backed by the seller, not Canon and may not be for the full 12 to 24 months depending upon what the fine print says in the invoice.|||the two websites you listed are scam sites.

they will only sell you the product if you purchase upgrades... and wont refund unless you ask your cc company.

you order your camera, and they call you and try to upsell you - they will try and sell you a battery for double price etc etc... if you say no, all of a sudden all of your order is backordered.

they will not refund .

then you need to ask your cc company for the money back.|||Research them. There are many places that offer to good to be true prices because it's a scam. There is a lot of discussion about it on the internet. BBB has a lot about it too.|||IF it is too good to be true, it is not true! These could well be factory reconditioned units, etc. Don't get caught up in that game.
