I'm buying a Eastern King size Tempur-Pedic mattress and box spring plus a head board, foot board and side boards. The thing is this, I am a man and want to have an obvious man bed (the colors are black and gray) and the frame is metal and black. The thing is I plan on covering up my mattress of course with a fitted sheet. NOW WHAT DO I DO SO THE BOX SPRING DOES NOT SHOW? some people have told me to throw another fitted sheet around it, also telling me a bed skirt is too "fem"... yet others say the bed skirt is the way to go, and having the box spring in a fitted sheet will make it look like i have 2 mattresses and like a layer cake.
any thoughts people?|||You can buy very nice tailored bedskirts that are masculine in design and color. Shop around on the internet and look for a tailored one rather than a gathered one.
Just a side note, I recently bought a generic memory foam mattress from walmart.com. it's great! and so much less money than the name brand. they have 8" and 12". I got the 8" for less than $300. I bet the 12" is super comfy.
And they have some very masculine looking platform bed frames for a great price. No need for any bedskirt with these frames. Really...check out walmart.com and save yourself a lot of money.
Good luck!|||A bed skirt is not a feminine thing. It's just plain ignorant to think that a man has to be effeminate to care about the way his house looks. Besides, women usually appreciate a guy with a sense of balance in his home decor. If it's all 'man' stuff in the place, they aren't impressed. All they are thinking is that if they ever move in with you it will be an uphill battle to redecorate your place.|||I think a bed skirt would be fine. Not one that's all ruffles, but a nice tailored pleated one, something like this:
