Does this list of Kraft Products make you question how "free" the Free Market really is?

I keep hearing that a Free Market gives people ample opportunity to get ahead. However, the more I look into this, the more I realize that fewer and fewer corporations control the vast majority of companies we think are independent.

Kraft, for instance, owns the following (this is a long paragraph, I advise you skim over it)-

How much power can one get? How far does the grasp of the Corporation reach compared to the Government?

Remember, you don't vote for CEO's.

How free is the free market, anyway-for the aspiring business owner? What are his chances against giants like Kraft?

Does he have lobbyists? Can he exist easily in our era of Corporate Feudalism?|||What are you doing?? You are supposed to be focused on the black president and the n---ger loving pelosi and reid, not logical conversation stuff like this!! Someone needs to reconnect you to the matrix!!!|||You're worried about the power of Kraft? Son, there are mcuh bigger things to focus on.

When you are a shareholder you do vote for the CEO.|||Everything you say is correct.

The only exception to this rule was Walmart, which became a behemoth like this anyways.|||The top corporations/billionaires own everything...but they hide it in a series of fake corporations.

We only know part of the truth|||You are on to something. Now try to get used to the fact that most people can't understand where you are coming from...|||They expanded their empire by buying the competition. The competition didn't have to sell.|||They have FDA regulations and other government regulations that take out their competition for them. Thus we dont have a free market and havent in a very very very long time.|||Simple, boycott Kraft products.|||Love Kraft, (dinners and Raspberry jam)|||No,,,,I like Paul Newmans salad dressings best.|||the free market says you have the freedom to boycott kraft food.|||Capitalism, despite popular belief, isn't a perfect system, as many would like to believe. The flaw you pointed in is the largest chink in the armor.

Capitalism relies on a free market with equal opportunities. But those two things can't coexist, in fact, they contradict each other.

The main philosophy is, if you lose, it's your own fault. But there are so many other factors when it comes to winning that the capitalist philosophy doesn't take into account. Consider that it's a dog eat dog economy. What if one dog is 3 times as big as another dog faces a normal sized dog. Who's gonna win? When big dog eats the normal sized dog, he grows to the size of 4 dogs. Monopolies, however we much we try to stop them, are part of the Capitalist system, and the philosophy is that if they made it, it was through hard work and perseverance.

But, as you can see, people don't work hard and persevere to become successful. The majority of them are born into successful families and/or cheat to get ahead.

A free market economy relies on competition, and competition is ruthless, my friend.
